Pulling out the stencils

CAS Stencil has challenged us to pull out our stencils and do a little blending.

I used a Carablelle stencil and some distress oxide ink and to add a little interest I stamped the sponging with the stencil in place.

CASology Guest Designer

I was so happy to be chosen as a CASology winner in December and to be their Guest designer for this week. Their Cue word for this week is "Cloud".

I struggled a little with this one. I don't have a cloud stamp but I have a die, although that didn't work for me. I then thought watercolour 👍

I decided to pull out some hot press watercolour paper and create my own cloudy sky.

I flooded some watercolour paper with water and touched the water with the paint brush with some blue on it, once I was happy with the colour saturation I let it dry.  To keep the clouds the focus of the image I though a few birds off to one side would be perfect.

Treats on Tuesday For Magenta

I'm at Magenta with my Treats on Tuesday with Christine.

This week I'm using a background from my stash, a faux mother of pearl . I stamped over it with some Distress Oxide inks using the Galaxy Cluster stamp and the Delicate leaf branch. Finally I used the bubble stencil and distress inks to blend around the leaves.

I used Zig watercolour pens to colour the leaves and die cut the frame using a stitched rectangular die. You can see the shine from the shimmer frost white ink below.

Treats on Tuesday for Magenta

It's time to play over at Magenta.

I used a salted watercolour background and layered the stamps using Delicata Silver and Distress Oxide Peeled Paint.  The focal stamp was stamped in Black Archival and the leaves were coloured lightly using a watercolour pen. The final touch was a little stenciling in Distress ink. The whole panel was sprayed with Shimmer spray to make it glisten.

CAS Christmas 2019

We're all ready to start a new year at CAS Christmas and we hope you're ready to pull out your Christmas stamps and start making cards with us. 

I know you think there's lots of time or it's too early, but the time flies. So what better way in building up you stash than joining in the challenge and making a couple every month. 

January's theme is Blue and Silver, the Design Team and our Guest Designer Kaja have been busy making some amazing cards pop over and check them all out.

My card is a cling wrap technique and blue powdered inks for one layer and some wonderfully sparkly glitter paper for the second. This card was a pretty fast one to make so will be duplicated a few times with different die cuts.

the sentiment is from Chocolate Baroque and is stamped in Delicata Silver.

Here is my Card for the New Year introduction to 2019. So  a Happy New Year to all my Blog friends and I'm looking forward to a very crafty time with you all.

I used some Heat and Stick with embossing ink and then silver gilding flakes to create the silver image then stamped again with distress oxide ink.

 The advantage of Heat and Stick or Sticky embossing powder is that you don't have that horrid clean up of glue off your stamps.

Thank You for a Wonderful Crafty Year

Another Year has flown by, as always it was busy but so much fun crafting with you all.

I'd like to thank all my blog friends for all their sweet comments over the last 12 months.

In my waste not want not state of mind last week I used the ink of my cling wrap after making some Bister cling wrap backgrounds.  I spritzed the cling wrap and placed it on some white card stock.  I love the softer colour and may end up doing this again.

Finishing up a few more Christmas Cards

I'm sure we are all making and posting at the moment and the cards get simpler and simpler the closer we get to Christmas.  

I use a Magazine freebie for the star wreath and the sentiment. The stars were heat embossed in white, and then the background was blended with distress oxides inks and a little water splattered over the surface.  I die cute the centre of the wreath and stamped the sentiment. Super simple.

I trimmed a thin strip of black as my border.

Well Christmas is just around the corner.

We're just a few weeks away from Christmas and here at CAS Christmas card challenge it's the last challenge of  2018.  We know everyone including the Design Team are busy at this time of the year the challenge will end on the 15th of December.

Trina is our host for this month's challenge  and our Guest Designer is Cindy (Escape to Stamping),  We can't wait to see all the sparkle and shine of those wonderful star cards.

For my card I die cut a postage stamp shape, masked the edges and used distress ink (stormy sky) to blend the central space. I used Distress oxide ink(old paper) on the background stamp (a Crafty individuals stamp) and then stamped a star from this JOFY set. I re-stamped the star used pencils and gamsol to colour and then fussy cut the image. 

I was looking for soft colours for the background so I used muted blues and greens.
