Group of Seven Technique - Cover Die Eclipse

Hi everyone, it's time for our Group of Seven Cardmakers technique. This month we are having fun with Cover Die Eclipse. This is one of those must try techniques, easy but so effective.

There is a video you can follow Stamp & Chat wit Gina K,
The basic idea is -
Stamp your image twice
Die cut one with a backplate.
Die cut and additional one or two white pieces of card with the same backplate to layer under your image.
When you are happy with the thickness of your layers place the second stamped image behind.

Card 1 I stamped the image twice and coloured both the same, sorry I don't know who makes the flowers as I borrowed the stamp, the Sentiment is from Impression Obsession, Mosaic die

Card 2 -Art Kure Image, BetterPress Sentiment, Kokorosastudio Puzzle  die. I kept it simple and just stamped the image

Card 3 Magenta Stamps, Mosaic die.

September Craft Stampers Magazing

Hi Everyone, I'm so excited to tell you I have a card featured in Craft Stampers Magazine. It was one I created at out retreat in May which will be in Septembers Edition (in the stores on the 1st of August)

Nancy showed us a cut up technique for our card fronts, as I was working on it I noticed the theme for Craft Stampers readers submissions for the September magazine was the sea. I had used some Impression Obsession sea shell stamps and found the perfect mix of colours for the Submission so I emailed a picture of the card to Trish at Craft Stampers, she immediately emailed me back to say it had been accepted. Whoo hooo 👍

This is the image from Craft stampers

And this is the full image of my card using the Cut up Technique.

Craft Stampers Magazine is available by subscription (overseas subscriptions are also available) at www.craftstamper.com., single print copies are available from www.mags-uk.com .

CAS Christmas Mid month reminder

It's time for our CAS Christmas Card Challenge mid month reminder, our theme for this month is Holly.  Remember it CAS, Christmas and Holly what more could you want.

For my card, I've watercoloured this pretty Chickadee on Holly from Impression Obsession.  After I watercoloured it, I masked and then splattered with black and stamped the sentiment in Ranger Archival Carnation Red.  I seem to be doing that a lot lately, I think it's because I picked up some of the mini archival inks. They're awesome for small sentiments.

While the stamp was out I stamped a second image again on hot press watercolour.  the second is a little less CAS with lots of smooshing of Distress Oxide inks and a black border.

Sea shells and shimmer

I recently pulled out some Lindy's Stamp Gang magical powders which have been sitting in my powdered inks box for some time.  The Magical sets comprise of 5 colours in 1/4 oz jars which can be mixed with water to make sprays or paints.

I wanted to continue the CAS Mix up theme and try them out with cling wrap.  I stamped the Impression Obsession shells using versamark on mixed media paper and heat embossed them with white detail embossing powder. I then spritzed with water with water before sprinkling a few colours of the magicals over it.  The first layer of water allows the powders to dissolve slightly and then spritz again to move them around. I took a piece of cling wrap larger than the mixed media paper and smooshed the colours around encouraging the cling wrap to crinkle on the paper.

The shimmer is so pretty as you can see from the close up.

I am entering this for
