Group of Seven Cardmakers - AI's and Gilding Flakes

Hi everyone it's time for the Group of Seven Cardmakers monthly technique and this moth we have Alcohol inks and Gilding flakes.

For my cards I used Yupo and  Graffix White Duralar, I do love how the Alcohol float around the surface when you add Isopropyl alcohol. 

It took me a while to create some good inky edges for the gilding flakes to stick to but I got there in the end. I think both Yupo and Duralar worked the same, so now I have another use for my Duralar.

Crafty Zooming - Embossed Gilding

This months Group of Seven Crafters got together via Zoom to Dry Emboss with some Gilding Flakes, we followed this You tube technique by Technique Junkies. 

This is one I will definitely try again, the aged effect that the ink creates is so pretty and versatile.

Here is my Card for the New Year introduction to 2019. So  a Happy New Year to all my Blog friends and I'm looking forward to a very crafty time with you all.

I used some Heat and Stick with embossing ink and then silver gilding flakes to create the silver image then stamped again with distress oxide ink.

 The advantage of Heat and Stick or Sticky embossing powder is that you don't have that horrid clean up of glue off your stamps.

for this card I used the following stamp.

Ink:  Distress Oxide, Versamark

Missed the deadline for Tag You're it but thought I would post anyway

Marcia of Marcia's Stampin Pad is featured artist over at Tag you're it with this beautiful fall tag.

I missed the challenge dead line but here is my tag anyway 😊.  I used Kraft paper and a swatch of left over gilding flake covered card stock. I used some Sookwang double sided tape on card and then covered it in gilding flakes, so much easier than glue.

I stamped the tree in white ink off the edge of the tag and used copper embossing powder for the sentiment.
