Group of Cardmakers- Textured Tissue Paper with Dry Dmbossing

Hi Everyone, it's time for our monthly technique over at the Group of Cardmakers.
This moth we are Dry Embossing tissue paper and braying on some colour.

I added colour to tissue paper by spritzing it with water and swiping it through ink on my craft sheet, you could also spray some colour onto the tissue paper. When it dried I crumpled it up then opened it out again and stuck it to card stock using craft glue (careful handling it while it's wet, it will tear easily). You can leave as many of the creases as you want when you flatten the tissue paper out. The creases give it a more distressed look when you bray with the paint. When the glue is dry run the sheets through some 3D embossing folders then brayer acrylic paint over the embossed area.
As the tissue paper makes the brayred surface more uneven, sometimes the paint does'n come in contact with all the embossed image. You can touch up some of the areas with acrylic paint to get the effect you want.

Loll has a video on adding colour to Tissue Paper,

For my first card I used a Poinsettia Embossing folder and bartered a metallic blue acrylic paint over the image and then went over it again with some black in to give it a more distressed grungy look.

My second card I used a berry and foliage 3D embossing folder and gold acrylic paint.

My third card I used a holly and berry embossing folder and gold acrylic paint.

I hope you find some tome to try this technique with us, it really does give a cool effect.

Acrylic Paint Backgrounds- Tracy Evans

Hi Everyone, I was watching a Tracy Evans video which had a Gesso Resist background and thought I would play a little.
My first card was inspired by the gesso resist but other than the colour and the gesso is very different to Tracy's, the second is a brayered background and Tracy's Hare stamp.

Card 1 I brayered gesso over the card then brayered the yellow and a turquoise acrylic paint. I then used one of Tracy's stamps to stamp the background using a MISTI and re stamped and fussy cut the butterfly wing and the postage stamps after pre colouring with pencils.

Card 2 - I brayered pink and blue on a piece of 110lb white card and then using the MISTI stamped the Hare. I re stamped the Hare on another piece of card coloured it with pencils and fussy cut it out and stuck it to the acrylic paint brayered card. I love the colours on this one.

Brayered background

I've been meaning to try this technique by Leandra Franich for a while and now I think I'm hooked.

Using a light touch with the brayer covered in acrylic paint rotate the card to cover from each direction you add swatches of colour. You just keep layering colour on top of colour. If you have too many dark areas you can always use white or a lighter colour to tone it down.
I stamped my poppies with Versafine Clair Nocturne, coloured them with Posca Acrylic pens and then re stamped the image. The other images were stamped using Ranger archival inks.

This is what my background looked like before I cut some for my card. I also added some scribbles of oil pastels, you cans see the subtle outline under the acrylic paint.

I'm entering this for
