Hi everyone I'm over at Magenta with a fun technique using Distress stains. You can see the how it's done in a video Loll from Stamping with Loll did a little while ago on splattering techniques.
You prime the sponge on a distress stain and smack it down on the card. This gives these wonderful ink splatters for my card I used pewter and persimmon.
The pewter is a metallic stain so to add colour to the flowers I used alcohol inks. I stamped the image in memento black in my MISTI coloured the image and then stamped again in Black Versafine Clair and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
No sentiment yet, I'm waiting for just the right occasion.
I'm entering this for the Rainbow card challenge Orange opulence.

Loll has some fantastic videos and this is just another one...love your result, amazing as always.xx
It looks wonderful... nice technique too.... did you wet the paper before you did those bursts of color with the stains?
Oh it's gorgeous!! What a great idea for all those stains I have abandoned in my cupboard... I'll check that out! TFS
Wow on your background. Love the splats and love that you got them in such a soft, pastel color, never overwhelming your artwork. I also love your color choices on this- the neutral with your brilliant orange. Beautiful work!
What a great technique on your background Christine! love the colors and those beautiful blooms!
Beautiful card. Cool background technique. xx
Hi Ellie, you use dry paper and make sure the stain sponge is quite wet and just hit the paper hard with the sponge, the ink sprays out :)
I LOVE the background! Pretty flowers, too. I absolutely need a splatter screen because no matter how careful I am I get it all over everything. I can just picture the mess with this technique. Definitely one to try (with a screen)!
Your background with the Distress Stain splatters turned out beautifully, Christine. I love your pretty flowers too. TFS my friend. Hugs, Nancy
I love what you're coming up with for Magenta. Great use of the splats for the background, and beautiful flowers!

Clever technique and lovely card. Thanks for joining us at The Rainbow Card Challenge!
LOVE the distress stain splats, Christine! They added so much interest to the background, and yet the colors are light, so not distracting. The bright color of the flowers and the shiny black outlines have a strong impact. Fantastic card!
