Graphite Transfer Debossing

I was over at Split coast Stampers checking out Lydia's graphite transfer with an embossing folder. To my surprise I had the tools to try the technique including the graphite paper, normally I have to head out and buy something that I don't have. I bought the graphite paper to mark on wood about 3 years ago and used the smallest piece you can imagine.

I placed the graphite paper graphite side down on the card, placed it in my embossing folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug. I then put some Distress Oxide inks on my craft mat  spritzed with water and picked up the colour on the card, the graphite creates a resist to the ink.
This is such a fun easy technique and I love the touches of graphite throughout the embossed image, it adds an aging effect.

My Rhino is a stamp from Rubber dance which is coloured using Prismacolor pencils.

I'm entering this for
Craft Stampers Take it Make it Challenge (anything goes)

WOW! Great design, Christine !! I had to think about what graphite transfer paper is :-) But finally I came up with a solution to the riddle :-) I did not think that this paper could be used that is now almost unused. I love this project, great men's card. Great colors and beautiful rhino coloring.

I have no idea what graphite paper is but what a fantastic effect it has. Love the rich texture on this as well as the muted colors. Outstanding job on coloring the rhino too! You must have the world's most interesting collection of stamps there! This is truly fabulous!

Wow, such an interesting background, Christine! Love the graphite's aging effect and the DOX colors you used! The rhino is perfect for this background and your coloring is gorgeous. I especially love that you added blue to him.

Wow, that's awesome!! The rhino seems to blend in with the background in some places! - It's like he raised a lot of dust while running and it partially envelops him. A fantastic technique that I absolutely have to try! Thank you for the link and thank you so much for joining us at DotMCC!

You're so good about trying all these different techniques. This turned out pretty amazing, Christine! I love the embossing and colors and the very cool rhino. Funny how you don't even see the graphite. Who thinks up all this stuff?!!

Hi Christine... gorgeous way to enhance the technique. I've also tried this technique, and thanks for your comment on it. I don't think SCS is still getting much attention anymore as there were no comments on my cards and ATC's I uploaded to SCS. Do you know more about it?
