I started by using gesso the board to prime it and then adding some pan pastels. I sealed the pan pastel surface and then stamped the Jelly fish, seahorses, turtles and fish.
I used Crackle paste through a stencil over the background to give an impression of bubbles.
I stamped the jelly fish and one of the turtles again on card stock coloured and cut them out. I added Vintage Beeswax embossing powder to give more of a 3D effect for the images and also with the Jelly fish I wanted a liquid effect. The jellyfish tentacles are a mixture of black fine liner, white fine liner and ART Alchemy blue gold acrylic paint.
I also used the encrusted jewel technique on the remaining sea horses and small turtle. The embossing powders were all from Emerald Creek. I used a mixture of their Baked Textures and the Allure embossing powders.
I glued the shells to the board using a hot glue gun, gesso them and used some Art Alchemy paints in black, blues and gold. Once dry I used a versamark pad to smoosh over the edge of the board and the shells and added some embossing powders.
I'm entering this for the following challenges

WOW love this it's one fabulous work of art. I can see a lot of work went into this in the making but what a result...would love to see it in real life, it would be even more spectacular..
OMG, Christine your art board is absolutely amazing and like Annie said..A True Work of Art. All your many mixed media layers, EB pastes and powders, die cut pieces, shells and colors are really stunning and work so well together. You should be the winner of all 3 of your challenges. TFS my friend. My art board is still unfinished too..would be a fun Winter project to finish it. You have me inspired my friend. Hugs..
So glad I got to see this in real life - it is even more stunning than in the photo! Love all the details of the bubbles, the sand, all the underwater sea life, but most of all the shells and the way you did them - they are beautiful!

This project just blows me away! Great sea depth with your pan coloring, and amazingly realistic jelly fish tentacles, so you did superb with that effect. Love the sea bubbles, and I'm not sure what the Vintage Beeswax powder is (is that the new Seth Apter product?). The gold on the shells is beautiful, and the encrusting work on the seahorse and turtle look gorgeous. This is just a marvelous look, and marvelously executed project! It's just amazing! TFS & Hugs
