It's Christmas tree time at CAS Christmas

Are you ready for CAS Christmas August challenge? if so it's time to pull out those Christmas trees and get stamping.

This we are happy to welocme Barb (Barb's Studio Creations) as our Guest Designer,  so pop over and check out Barbs amazing cards.
We also have some exciting news, Colleen (One Smile Lifts the Sprit) and Linda (Lin's Craft Corner) are joining the design team with their wonderful CAS creations.
Hideko is our challenge host for August, great choice Hideko 😄
Don't forget you all have until August 24th to join in.

Here is my card for the Challenge. The background is a piece of Yupo with alcohol inks and gold foil detail, you  can see the beautiful flecks of gold which stuck to parts of the tacky alcohol ink. The moon is a small circle stamp with Alcohol Lift used to remove the ink, I love the partial colour removal, it really looks like the moon. The trees are die cut out of white cards stock and layered over the Yupo and the whole image is popped up on foam. I created a 7" X 5" card because I couldn't cut down such a pretty piece of Yupo.

This is a close up of the foiling and the ink lifting. I hope you like the card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Stampin Up, Simon Says Stamp solid circle
Paper: Yupo, 110 lb white
Ink: Ranger Archival, Alcohol inks, Alcohol ink lift
Accessories: Foil, Sizzix tree line die
Techniques: Alcohol inks on Yupo with foil, Alcohol lift.

WOW!! Gorgeous background Christine. The colours of the AI's are gorgeous. You've taken it a couple of steps further with adding the gold foiling and using the lift ink to lighten the moon ... both are so amazing to give this card extra special touches. xx

WOW! Christine, this card is so beautiful that for a long while I have been in the dark. I love the sky, so restless and dramatic. The moon looks stunning on this background. And golden streaks, and a beautiful white forest ... A perfect card

This is so STUNNING Christine. That blue moon is the perfect colour tone to this nighttime blizzard scene. I've lived up north and that's the moon. Beautiful colours, deep and intense uplifted by the foiling. The all white row of trees including the white card base gives so much impact on that sky. Bravo, I'm in love ;-) xx

Oh, my, this is stunning, Christine! I LOVE your AI sky with gold foil. Gorgeous colors all over. And the dreamy full moon! I saw a few videos how to use the AI lift pad, but I didn't think of using it this way (using a solid stamp).
The white trees look strikingly beautiful against the sky. Hideko xx

Whoa! So many amazing details in that AI yupo piece! Don’t blame you for not wanting to cut that down. Makes a gorgeous wintery sky. Love the gold foil speckles and the partially lifted moon... definitely looks more realistic. That lift ink is on my list as it seems it was sold out everywhere! Awesome card. xx

Wow...Stunning Alcohol Ink background, Christine. I LOVE how you used the gold foil on the background and Alcohol Ink lift for the moon! So cool! Because your card is extra large you should frame and use as a new Christmas Decor. TFS your beauty, my friend. Hugs...

What a dramatic background enhanced by the foil! I've seen this Alcohol LIft and so tempted to get it. Love the effect of the moon and only partial removal of color giving such a realistic image. This is perfectly finished with your lovely die cut of the pine trees.

Gorgeous! And your gold foil on the alcohol ink showed up great too. Pretty die to show off the background. I've not had great success with my first try at the alcohol lift technique, but yours worked so well on this. TFS

Yes I wouldn't have cut down the size of that amazing background either. The colours and the effect is stunning. The pop of gold and the crisp white of the die cut look fabulous. Fun idea with the moon and thank you for the fabulous inspiration x.

This might be one of my favourites of your cards! I love the colours in the sky and the way you did the moon. The white trees against all that is so perfect for a snowy winter scene.

Your background is utterly stunning, Christine! Oh, my word, the moon looks so real. I'm glad you didn't have to cover up too much of this gorgeous piece. The trees enhance rather than take away.
