CAS Christmas Card Challenge and a Happy 3rd Bithday

Hi Everyone, it's time for a new challenge and a birthday celebration at CAS Christmas.
As a part of the celebration there will be some prizes, but remember to be eligible your card has to follow the rules and be "Clean and Simple".

Loll our host wants us to create something with Kraft, Red and White, I always think of them as the perfect Christmas colours and one of my favourite combinations.

Also please welcome Gundi (Papierelle) as our Guest Designer for this month and drop by her blog to see her card.

Here's my card for the challenge, I stamped my poinsettia in white ink coloured it with pencils and then heat embossed in clear embossing powder.
The clear embossing gives a very light colour on the white. For a whiter image it's better to use either white on white (ink and powder) or Versamark and white powder. I actually like the ghosted print of the poinsettia.

Here's a close up of the image.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Magenta
Paper: Kraft, 110lb White
Ink:Hero Arts White ink.
Accessories: Pencils
Techniques: Heat embossing, Pencil colouring

Wow Christine - what a lovely look with the clear embossing over the white inked poinsettias! So beautfully colored in red - they look so dimensional and yet it's a no layer card, love this! xx

Your beautifully coloured poinsettias look wonderful on the kraft card Christine, and I love the white ink and clear embossing over the top and the design is great with the flowers making a border down the side of the card and the words doing the same to the right and also stamped in white and heat embossed with the clear EP. This does give a softer look to the outlines which is very pretty. x

The "ghosted" look of the clear embossing is really effective - such a soft faded look. A great contrast to the lovely colouring of the poinsettias. A great card for the challenge.

This is so pretty! I have not tried stamping in white ink and heat embossing in clear on kraft card. It's very cool and adds dimension to your beautiful poinsettias. xx
