This is one of my favorite is the Penny Black stamps, it comes as a stamp and a stencil and oh so versatile.
For this card I used distress stains and pulled the colour back into the centre of the petals, you can see this technique by Heather Telford at spilit coast stampers. The background is a stenciled and and some red pearls.

The second card is the same technique using distress stains on the stamp and but this time I have watercoloured the background with a watercolour wash and then splattered black acrylic paint over the flower.

WOW! I have not tried distress stains with this technique but I can see that you easily mastered it just as Heather T did! These are amazing, Christine! Just so beautifully done!
I got to see both your Distress Stains watercoloured flowers before you finished them into cards. I LOVE both CAS designs, Christine. Your 1st card looks wonderful with your lightly stenciled background and love all your splatters on your 2nd card. TFS and joining us at CAS Mix Up and CAS Watercolour my friend. Hugs...
Two simply beautiful cards. The stencilling in the first one is so delicate and allows the blooms to shine!
Thanks for joining us at ATSM

Both of your cards are so beautiful, that watercolouring technique sure leaves your poppies looking stunning. Loving the watercolour splatters on your second card! Thank you for playing along with the STAMPlorations CAS Challenge. We hope to see you back again soon! Karola, DT, InvisiblePinkCards
WOW! Both of these are GORGEOUS, Christine! I love the flower on the 1st one. This technique is tricky IMO but you have mastered it! The bit of stenciling in the background adds a lot of interest without overwhelming! And the 2nd card is equally as pretty! I love the wash and splatters with the gorgeous poppies! Thanks for sharing with both CAS Watercolour and CAS Mix Up!
Love the bit of stenciling behind the flower in the first card - a great way to add interest to the background. And the second one is beautiful with the wash background and splatters.
Great techniques on both of your fabulous cards...particularly love the subtle stencilling on you first card. Fabulous cards, thanks for sharing and for the inspiration X
Gorgeous cards, Christine. You executed the technique perfectly. Love the two different backgrounds. They really make those beautifully watercoloured poppies pop.
Two beautiful cards with this wonderful floral stamp Christine! Love the black splatter - thank you for joining us in the CAS Mix up Challenge! Julia xx
Two beautiful cards Christine. This is such a great technique that we learned from Susan. We all had wonderful success. I LOVE your first card with those gorgeous orange flowers and the blue stenciled background. Your second card is so beautiful. Love the soft blue sky background, wonderfully watercoloured poppies with lots of depth with your shading, and the black splatters are just the perfect finishing touch! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour and CAS Mix Up! xx
