Hi everyone, it's time for the Group of Seven Cardmakers technique. This month we are using generation stamping. This is a great technique to add depth to your cards and also create different shades of colours from one ink pad.
Here are a few videos for you to check out if you haven't tried it before.

One thing you have to remember if you first stamp partially off the card the inked area will now be uneven and have a noticeable ink line will appear. You can see the line on the second stamped image and the rubber stamp. It is better to stamp off the first ink on scrap paper then stamp on your card.
Card 1- I used Lavinia stamps and second and third generation stamping. It can actually give your image a little movement, the bird has first, second and a very faint third generation stamping and I lightened the colouring as I went along. The background has lots of second a third generation stamping to add depth and lighter colours. To finish the card off I went around the edge with a Gold Pen to create a faux mat.
Card 2- Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous images. I stamped my first image high on the page and each time I stamped again I moved it down. You can see the Queen Anne's Lace get lighter and lighter, I also stamped the numbers a second time. I also finished the card by going around the edge with a Blue metallic pen to create a faux mat.
We hope you give this fun technique a go and don't forget to show us the cards you create 😊

What beautiful cards. I love them both, but that humming bird is really very special. Well done xx
Lots of wonderful generation stamping on both cards Christine, and such pretty background colours with the green leaves above and pink and purple silhouette flowers below, and also some lovely script, and the wonderful movement with the three stampings on the humming bird. I love the Queen Anne' Lace on the second and very effective with the three generations of stamping and the two on the numbers down the side, and a beautiful shade of blue blended ink. Such a great idea to add the pen around the edges of both to creat a faux mat which looks very effective. x
Beautiful cards Christine, particularly like the humming bird. Great way to edge them with a pen xxx
Beautiful cards and stamps-and a great technique, but really love the fabulous humming bird.

You have created wonderful movement on the first card, Christine! The background is awesome too! I love the simplicity of the field of wildflowers, and the halo you created with the inked background!
The bird in flight really shows the generation stamping so well and that background is lovely. Love the Queen Anne's Lace and that cool technique on the edge.
My favourite technique to create motion, which you’ve achieved on your first card. Both fabulous card.
Amazing cards. I love this stamping effect again when you get the glow of the image. Two amazing cards and thanks for reminding me of this great technique
xx
Well done, Christine those hummers are beautiful! Two wonderful cards!
Two beautiful cards Christine! The Lavinia stampings are so pretty coming from both the top and bottom - and you even off stamped that lovely bird! Your blue card looks like the garden as the sun is setting! Beautiful stamps used on both! Julia xx
Stop the presses, that hummingbird card is almost TOO gorgeous! It's like a beautiful dream. I'm awestruck here, Christine! Your Queen Anne's Lace is blue artsy perfection, as though being seen in the misty morning light. Two absolutely lovely cards!
Two beautiful cards with this technique Christine. Your first card is amazing with the bird that is stamped multiple times. It definitely looks as though the bird is flying across the page --- great work!! I love the way you've used multiple ways of generation stamping on your first card. It's a work of art in a card!! Your second card is beautiful with your second and third gneration stamping creating so much depth. Fabulous examples of this technique, my friend! xx
