Group of Seven Cardmakers - Gilding Flakes on Acetate

Hi everyone, it's time for our Group of Seven Cardmakers technique for this April. This month we're playing with our Gilding Flakes and applying them to Acetate.

The video below shows you how to use the Gilding flakes on Acetate.

Gilding Flakes on Acetate! by Meerkat Makes by L (9:58)

For my cards I took some craft glue and spread it out on my craft mat. I picked up the glue with piece of foam and pounced it onto my rubber stamps.  Be careful in that you need to put your stamps in water immediately after stamping on the acetate. I left one of my stamps a little too long so removing the glue took a little effort.

Card 1 -Deep Red Church and street lamp, Janes Doodles Sentiment.
I used Simon Says thin frame die to outline the image,

Card 2- AAL and Create Fibonacci background stamp,  IO Seth Apter - Solar System.  The acetate was layered over a background from my stash, it will eventually be a masculine birthday card.

Card - 3  Art Specially Hare stamp, Simon Says Stamp thin frame die, I think this is my favourite of the all the cards.

This was a fun technique but as usual there's a big clean up at the end, we hope you give it a go.

Card Recipe
Stamps:
Paper: 110 lb White, Silver, Gold Acetate
Ink: Card 1 Versafine Clair Nocturn for the Sentiment

Three very different and very lovely cards. Thanks for the inspiration. I think I might get my gilding flakes out - it has been a while xx

All three cards are wonderful, Christine. I agree that the clean up is always work, but making multiples each session is definitely the way to minimize that part. You've shown no matter what type of image, gilding flakes always make it look spectular. Amazing work! xx

That's very interesting about stamping with glue. I have to say the hare is my favorite as well. I've never seen one so elegant!

I love the stamps you used on all three of your designs Christine - each so different and each worked well with the Gilding Flakes ! Julia xx

I agree that the hare is my favourite of the three - it's gorgeous in gilding flakes. But I love the fact that you did three very different images to show how versatile the technique can be.

Three brilliant cards Christine and so different from one another. The snowy scene looks terrific and it looks as though it is mostly silver but with some little bits of added red which works so well. The second masculine make looks perfect over the softly coloured circle, and the blueprint/grid silver background really makes it stand out, and lastly that sweet hare, and intricate design, but such a great coverage of the flakes that it works beautifully...I think this is my favourite too. x

The silver flakes on the first card look peaceful and snowy. That's a great masculine card and the hare is just wonderful. Three fantastic cards using the gilding flakes.

Three brilliant cards, Christine. I have trouble choosing the most beautiful one, because each one has a completely different character. And they are all so brilliantly designed.
