Group of Seven Monthly technique -Stenciling Over Heat Embossing

Hi everyone, it's time for the Group of Seven technique post and this month we're playing with some background heat embossing and stenciling over it.
You can check out Gina K's video below and the Group of Seven blog for the supplies and the instructions.
Video:  Stenciling over Heat Embossing by Gina K (5:17)

I found I got better results with the busier backgrounds, even though I really like my snowman, the sentiment background missed a few areas of the stenciling. Also bigger open areas of the stencils show off the background a little more. I really enjoyed this technique and I will be doing it again.

Card 1- Sweet poppy stencil, Stampendous Christmas background stamp. White Embossing Powder, Distress Oxide inks. Mama Elephant Christmas Sentiment Strip.

Card 2 Paper Artsy Stencil JOFY script background heat embossed in white. Distress Oxide ink blending. Mama Elephant Christmas Sentiment Strip

Card 3- Technique Junkies stamp Jingle Bells background heat embossed in White, Sweet Poppy stencil Distress Oxide inks, Mama Elephant Christmas Sentiment strip.

Card 4- Rubernecker T'was the night before Christmas background  heat embossed in White. Sweet poppy stencil blended with Distress Oxide inks. Mama Elephant Christmas Sentiment strip.

Boy Christine - you really went to town with this technique, trying all kinds of background stamps and beautiful stencils! I have that ornament stencil and you have inspired me to get it out this year and use it! Love the snowman with the tree and the wonderful fox with the music sheet background! The script text is perfect behind your poinsettia's too! Julia xx

Four beauties Christine and they all work brilliantly, I love the bauble and the poinsettia cards with interesting scripts which shows up well within the large open spaces of the stencils, and the snowman is cute, but my absolute favourite is the fox and that swirly background music and the star which looks great, and I love the light and shade you got. This is a super technique and will give it a go soon. x

I'm really intrigued by this technique and have bookmarked it. All your cards are amazing but, OMGosh, the Sweet Poppy coyote with music embossing is out of this world incredible!

Wow, these four cards are all fantastic, Christine! You've achieved great results with this technique! The big open space of the ornament shows off the heat-embossed Christmas background, and I absolutely LOVE the fox card with the heat-embossed music sheet! The music is swirling around the fox, and it looks like he is singing Jingle Bells!

I'm finally getting my commenting done on the Group of Seven cards. You did a great job with the technique! Beautiful use of the larger Christmas script stamp behind the ornament stencil (and such a wonderful colour on it too). I also really love the poinsettia one - it's so classy with the small script stamp and the red sponging.
