Hi everyone, it's time for the
Group of Seven technique post and this month we're playing with some background heat embossing and stenciling over it.
You can check out Gina K's video below and the Group of Seven blog for the supplies and the instructions.
I found I got better results with the busier backgrounds, even though I really like my snowman, the sentiment background missed a few areas of the stenciling. Also bigger open areas of the stencils show off the background a little more. I really enjoyed this technique and I will be doing it again.

Wow Christine - what a gorgeous quartet of cards with this technique!! Can't pick a fave; they're all stunning!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Boy Christine - you really went to town with this technique, trying all kinds of background stamps and beautiful stencils! I have that ornament stencil and you have inspired me to get it out this year and use it! Love the snowman with the tree and the wonderful fox with the music sheet background! The script text is perfect behind your poinsettia's too! Julia xx
That's the way to grow your Christmas stash, Christine! I can't decide on a favorite of the four! All are awesome from elegant to fun!
These are beautiful love the designs, and the fabulous colours ♥
Four fabulous Christmas cards using this great combination of techniques. All the backgrounds you heat embossed look amazing with these stencils. Great work, Christine!! xx
You got wonderful results with these four cards. Each one is different and so pretty. It's hard to pick a favorite from this group, I love them all.
Beautiful cards, Christine! I love the uniqueness of the fox with the music BG! I'm a big fan of out of the ordinary for holiday cards! This technique is so cool and you all made lovely cards! Sue N
Four wonderful cards, Christine. I especially love the musical fox one.
Four beauties Christine and they all work brilliantly, I love the bauble and the poinsettia cards with interesting scripts which shows up well within the large open spaces of the stencils, and the snowman is cute, but my absolute favourite is the fox and that swirly background music and the star which looks great, and I love the light and shade you got. This is a super technique and will give it a go soon. x
Wow, four fabulous examples of this technique. Thanks so much for all the inspiration xx
What a great technique and imaginative way you used this. Love your choices of background stamping, particularly the music. Great cards, Christine!
What a great post showing this technique beautifully, Christine! I must try it! They are all fabulous, but that fox really is a stunner!! Hugs, Darnell
Beautifully done, Christine! These are fantastic!
OMG..All Four of your beautiful creative Christmas cards are so inspiring and creative, Christine:-) But the stenciled howling wolf with the heat embossed musical notes was my favorite..so clever of you, my friend. How wonderful to add 4 more cards to your stash too:-) TFS your cards and tips too..Love and Hugs..Nancy
Wow! All beautiful. Your choices / pairings of products are perfect and showcased this technique brilliantly.
I'm really intrigued by this technique and have bookmarked it. All your cards are amazing but, OMGosh, the Sweet Poppy coyote with music embossing is out of this world incredible!
Wow, these four cards are all fantastic, Christine! You've achieved great results with this technique! The big open space of the ornament shows off the heat-embossed Christmas background, and I absolutely LOVE the fox card with the heat-embossed music sheet! The music is swirling around the fox, and it looks like he is singing Jingle Bells!

I'm finally getting my commenting done on the Group of Seven cards. You did a great job with the technique! Beautiful use of the larger Christmas script stamp behind the ornament stencil (and such a wonderful colour on it too). I also really love the poinsettia one - it's so classy with the small script stamp and the red sponging.
All these cards are very impressive. Thank you for sharing this technique, I definitely need to try it
xx
