CAS Christmas Card Challenge it's a New year

Hi everyone, it's January and the first CAS Christmas Challenge for this year and time to get going on those Christmas cards. I don't know if you had the same problem as me in December, I was in make and mail mode for the last two weeks. I'm not going to let that happen this December!!

Come join our Guest Designer Jane (Onions and Paper) and the Design team in the Challenge, I'm this months host and I'd like you to make a card with a tag on it. Remember it's a card challenge not a tag challenge😏

I used Altenew Washi tape for my background, I love that beautiful Nebula design there are so many colours. I stuck the tape to the card stock and die cut the tag.

The washi tape swatch on card was large enough to cut a second tag so I heat embossed the tree and sentiment. This was a great way to make QCAS cards for Christmas.

I'm entering this into the following Challenges

Christmas Kickstart #27 -Penguin Parade
Sparkles Christmas Challenge #108 for a Child
ABC Christmas Challenge B is for Bingo  (bottom row- die cut, CAS, Embossing)

Card Recipe
Stamps: MFT Penguin and sentiment, Penny Black tree, Simon Says Stamp sentiment
Paper: 110lb white
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Touch Alcohol pens, Stamplorations tag die, Altenew Washi tape SU Embossing folder, Sissix Embossing folder
Techniques: Embossing folder, Alcohol markers, white embossing powder,

Christine, thanks for the fun challenge. I never would have guessed that background is washi tape. Such an adorable penguin on your tag. And the tree tag is so pretty too.
Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year.

Love both of your tag cards! That washi tape is perfect for a background for a quick CAS card. The ice fishing one is very cute, but my favourite is the tree. Great embossed backgrounds on both of them.

I was right there with you finishing up cards right down to the wire and it looked like we had the same idea to use that beautiful Nebula Washi tape. It makes such quick gorgeous backgrounds. Both tags are beautiful. Your first tag is adorable.

Two beautiful tags out of one background ... gotta love that!! The penguin is adorable with this fishing pole. :) Perfect on the deep coloured part of the wash tape. The white embossed tree looks amazing on the bright shades of red background. Two amazing tag cards with lots of texture. Great challenge Christine!! xx

Love the use of the wide washi tape as a background on your tags. That penguin is adorable and love that you can heat emboss that tape too. I may have to try some for a quick and gorgeous background.

The penguin tag card is so adorable, Christine, and you showed us another clever way of using Washi Tape! Thank you!
The heat-embossed tree tag looks completely different even though the background was originally the same washi tape (different section). The woodgrain dry embossing in the background is a wonderful touch!

Gosh, love both of these! I'm not ready quite yet to make a Christmas card, but I will soon because I was in the same boat as you in 2019. Nice Washi tape, and I really love the embossing folder you used on your second card.
