Brayered background

I've been meaning to try this technique by Leandra Franich for a while and now I think I'm hooked.

Using a light touch with the brayer covered in acrylic paint rotate the card to cover from each direction you add swatches of colour. You just keep layering colour on top of colour. If you have too many dark areas you can always use white or a lighter colour to tone it down.
I stamped my poppies with Versafine Clair Nocturne, coloured them with Posca Acrylic pens and then re stamped the image. The other images were stamped using Ranger archival inks.

This is what my background looked like before I cut some for my card. I also added some scribbles of oil pastels, you cans see the subtle outline under the acrylic paint.

I'm entering this for

Beautiful blend of colours in the background - great technique. The bright poppies make a wonderful contrast. I wonder if the technique would work with gouache paints.

This turned out beautifully, Christine. That background is fabulous. I find that such a fun and relaxing technique and love that you can keep changing the predominant color. I bow to you for coloring the image with acrylics. That would be tricky for me. Your results are just beautiful!
