Magenta New Release

Hi Everyone, every spring Magenta has a new release of stamps and stencils. I hope you head over to their store and check them out.

My first card is a cling wrap and Nuance background using the reflective crane stamp on coated card. I love how easy this card was to make and so perfect for any occasion.

Here is the close up of the image.

My second card is one of the new stencils. I used the Elmers glue technique from the guys at Splitcoast Stampers to hold the stencil down while I watercoloured the image. Once the image was dry, I replaced the  stencil and used gel medium to give the birds and flowers some dimension and blended distress inks into the background. I also added a few flicks of water on the blended distress ink.

You can see the effect of the gel on the close up picture.

Two wonderful cards! Love that reflective image of the crane - and you made a perfect background for it. And the birds and flowers stencil is gorgeous - love the soft colours you used - it has a real Asian look to it.

LOVE your first card with the cling wrap background. PERFECT for this amazing crane image. Gorgeous card and great job with the reflecion! Amazing work with the watercolouring through stencil technique. I love this technique and it's fun to do.
You stepped it up a notch by adding the gel medium as a resist so you could watercolour the background. Great work Christine!

LOTS of amazing stamps and stencils with the new release ... I can feel my wallet getting lighter already! :) xx

Wow! Now these are added to my want list. Love that crane with the reflection. An awesome stamp and background for it! The bird stencil is amazing and so beautifully colored. Love how you've added dimension. You could add these to Krafty Chicks.

WOW! I won't tell you how many times I went on to your blog to check these out today before I had a chance to sit and comment. Both cards are fabulous. That egret reminds of the old days camping, sitting on a quiet lake with a cold drink and lunch and fishing the day away in the sunlight. Your cling wrap technique created the most amazing light rays. And I ended up buying this stamp too. This is incredible Christine! I can only hope to do something equally as magnificent with that stamp!

Revisiting for the 12th time today. Yes I double backed to this because it's so tranquil. You've created the perfect card for anyone and any occasion. I've also forwarded your link at least four times today. Thanks again for the inspiration although you are killing my budget (grin).

I also love how you added texture to your design on the 2nd card! The birds and flowers really pop with dimension and your watercoloring is flawless! So glad you joined in the fun at CAS Stencil!

What a serene scene you have made for the heron, and love the cling film technique which has given this gorgeous texture Christine, and then the beautiful birds and blossom stencil looks great in all the different colours you have used, and such a great idea to add the clear gel medium over the top for more pretty dimension. x

Oh Wow!! That BG is terrific!! I love the result... And your second card reminds me of very expensive wall paper... It's amazing and to think you stenciled that? Wow!

Goodness, Christine, that heron works brilliantly on your cling wrap background! That baby should be framed and put in the library! (Well, hey, if a room has books in it, isn't it a library?) And your sweet bird on the branch filled with glazed blossoms is another stunner! I happen to have something in a jar called Glaze on my desk! I got it last June after I came home, but, alas, it's never been opened so it's fun to see how it looks. I love it!! Thank you for inspiring me! Hugs, Darnell
