Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

This post is a little mixed media art board with memories of home during those unpredictable summers by the sea in Wales.  The tea shops along the promenade and the beach huts lined up at the edge of the sand, even when it was blowing a gale the beach was always a fun place to be.

The art board was gesso'd and once dry pan pastels applied.  I stamped a script text background using Versamark and used the pan pastels again to make the stamp stand out. The water is glass bead gel which I Versamarked and added white embossing powder for the surf.  The beach huts and sand castles are from a JOFY (Paper Artsy) stamp set, the bubble floating through the sky is texture paste stencil from Carabelle Studio. I used a spray fixative on the pan pastel background and then adhered the fussy cut images using gel medium. Just a fun whimsical scene 😏

This is a close up of all the texture on the surface, I hope you like the fun image and might try and art board yourself one day.

I'm entering this for

You brought back all my memories of my childhood summers at the beach in Sussex - there were beach huts just like these (in fact they are still there), and yes, the weather was unpredictable! I love your art board - perfect blend of colours, elements, and techniques!! Great way to do the sea and surf!

What a delightful and creative mixed media piece, Christine. I love the coloring of the sand as well as the added texture for surf and sky. I'm always in awe of all the different products you use and how effectively you use them.

Gosh, this was so interesting to read how you've created this happy & fun card. Love all the textures, and you certainly got the embossing paste leveled so evenly with the sky treatment. Also loving how you used the gel beads on the water. The little beach huts are so bright, and you've just a bit of 'everything' going on with this delightful card. Well done! TFS

Such a beautiful look at the beach, Christine! I love colorful houses, they create a unique atmosphere. I saw a photo of a similar beach once, and you have managed to create such a world. I also love the clouds that you created with the help of stencil. They look so sweet.
Hugs,
