Hi Everyone, there's a new challenge in town, Loll and Bonnie are hosting a CAS Christmas Card Challenge. I'm sure you all want to get your Christmas cards done before December so stop in and check out the challenges each month. The design team has some great inspiration for you, and we want to see your cards.
Our first challenge is Holly, so for my card I used the Penny Black holly die cut and watercolour card stock. The die cut is perfect for watercolouring as it has some impressions for the colour to pool. I die cut some black fun foam and popped it up, the black gives some shadowing and emphasizes the shape.
I went over the berries with glossy accents to make them pop and stamped the sentiment (paper smooches) in red to match the berries.
Card Recipe
Stamps: Paper Smooches sentiment
Paper: 110lb white, 140lb hot press watercolour
Ink: Ranger Archival Carnation Red
Accessories: Penny Black die cut, glossy accents, watercolours
Techniques: die cut Watercolouring

Wow! I think this die is going on my list, my friend! Beautiful coloring and the perfect sentiment!
This is stunning, Christine! It's CAS perfect with a great design! I love the shiny berries and the subtle shadow effect of the black foam. I'm so happy to be on the same team with you! Hideko xx
It's bright & colorful, and very CAS. Loved the G.Accents on the berries as they certainly pop. At first I thought you had it on the leaves as well, since they look so dimensional. After reading the post, yes, the foam worked great & I like the shimmer on the twig too! TFS & Hugs
Absolutely Gorgeous watercoloured and die cut holly leaves and berries, Christine. I love how you added the glossy accents and such a fun red sentiment. Thank you so much for sharing. Congratulations for being chosen for Bonnie and Loll's new CAS Christmas Card Challenge DT too. Hugs..
Can you share the actual name of the PB holly die? I would like to add to my wishlist. I just love how real your holly, berries and stem look.
Love the variation in the green color on the holly. You are going to have us all scrambling for that die after seeing this gorgeous card. Love the sentiment in red too- something I never think to do. Beautifully done.
Holly WOW, Christine, this is breathtaking! I'm so glad you are on the DT and not a participant because you would win hand's down!! I can't wait to get some of that foam and now I need the die, too!! Hugs, Darnell
