Guest Designer over at CAS Mix up

I was so happy to be selected as Top Pick in November and now to be January's Guest Designer at CAS Mix Up, it's such an honour.
This months Challenge is Cling Wrap stamping and your choice and is being hosted by Nancy of Scandinancy creates, what a kick off for 2018.
Come join  the team pulling out the cling wrap for this months challenge, you are in for a treat with some wonderful inspiration.

For my card I used cling wrap with Bister, spray starch die cuts (Tim Holtz and Memory box) and a little bit of sparkle from Martha Stewart glitter.
I love the earthy tones you get with bister, I have lots of powdered inks (yes I'm addicted) but have a tendency to gravitate toward my bister for this type of background.
Now, I'm not sure if spray starch is any better than water but it works for me.  I was first introduced to this technique via Split Coast Stampers who had a link to JoZart blog and have been hooked ever since as you can see at my Split coast stampers gallery. I'm so glad Nancy had this as a challenge theme, and even happier I'm GD.

You can just about see the fairy dust flying from her hand in the picture below.

I hope you like my card for the challenge and would love to see your work over at CAS Mix up.

You have never, ever done a boring background! This is another exceptional one! I finally tried this technique and so anxious to do it again. I agree, the muted colors of bister yield some interesting and beautiful results as you have achieved here. Love this!

Congratulations on being GD this month Christine. I will have to try the spray starch as I imagine being thicker than water it stays on the surface better rather than sinking in quickly, and the cling film effect is so pretty. I love your white die cut fairy and flower against that gorgeous background. x

Hi Christine. Just found your link at Bonnie's and zipped over to become your newest follower and enjoy this awesome card. Love the dark shades you've got for this fairy and truly, you can see the fairy dust being sprinkled into the air! Love this, and haven't tried starch as the blooming medium, but I certainly will now! TFS & Happy New Year.

Christine, Bonnie & Loll have told me about the type of paper you used as the base for the lovely cling wrap designs. Could you share what it is? I've tried the glossy kromekote (sort of like photo paper, probably a bit slicker...and yupo. The yupo takes way long to dry. The kromekote did ok. Tried stamping using Stazon, just to see what it would do. I'd appreciate knowing what this paper is, if you have time. You can find my email at the blog! Thanks!
