NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) #10

This is the third and final challenge for Darnell's 5th year Anniversary challenge NBUS challenge #10 which has an optional theme of bubble wrap.
What a great way to pull out all that never before used schtuff we all have. Personally I have some that I sell or give away before it's ever used, what a waste (don't tell my husband 🙊), so thanks Darnell for the nudge.

For this card I used  Alcohol inks on Yupo, a mix of gold and greens and blues.  I let it dry and used bubble wrap spritzed with Alcohol blending solution and pressed it onto the AI covered surface.  You can see the imprint of the bubbles in the background.  I let it dry again and then did some stamp layering with my NBUS text stamp from Bo Bunny and a stitched circle by LimeCitrorn.  I'm also adding my bubble wrap to my NBUS list as I've had it for almost a year waiting to be used because I've seen some awesome mixed media and gelli prints with bubble wrap imprints.  Finally I used my brand new leaf die by Gina Marie designs with some dull gold cardstock. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker.

I hope you like the card and would love to hear from you.

  1. Fabulous use of the bubble wrap - great idea to use it with AIs and blending solution. Love your layering of stamps and die, and it's a great sentiment too.

  2. This card looks amazing, Christine! Love the colour combo of your bubble wrap background and that leaf die is beautiful and accents it beautifully. I always "pop" my bubble wrap that comes with my orders so I have none to play with. 😂

  3. this turned out just wonderful mf....great card.
    xx Karen

  4. This is stunning Christine, I love the bubble wrap background. There looks to be so much texture to this card.

    Sue xx

  5. This is so beautiful Christine. Love the mix of colours for your background. The bubble wrap spritzed with blending solution leaves such a great design. LOVE that new leaf die (have to add it to my wish list!). xx

  6. Love this! You create such wonderful texture in your background and love the added text! The gold leaf makes this look fabulous! I'm going to have to try this one!

  7. I love the technique you used, Christine! I've been saving a piece of bubble wrap for quite awhile too. Hope to get to play with it this week, especially after seeing this!

  8. How fun to learn about yet another way to use the bubble wrap! This card is utterly sensational, Christine! You've made a true work of art out of playing with bubble wrap! I appreciate that you played in NBUS #10 and did the optional theme!! Hugs, Darnell
