Crafty Zooming - Heat embossed background

Hi everyone, there's a new Crafty technique blog out there called Group of Seven. Every month we will check out a new or old technique and post our results.
This month it's a creative Heat Embossed background, Versamark was applied randomly over a piece of card stock. I used cling wrap for my cards and one colour of Embossing powder
Our Group of Seven consists of the following wonderful crafters.

Here are some other background I made to add to my stash. I tried the technique on different coloured card stock and different mixes of embossing powders.

This is one I made adding shine and texture to black card which made for a pretty night sky.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Mamma Elephant Easy Sentiments with matching die
Paper: 110lb White
Ink: Versamark, Versafine Clair
Accessories: Die Cuts, Embossing Powders.
Techniques: Heat Embossing, Die Cutting

What a beautiful golden snowflake design on your cards Christine - the background is lovely behind the die cut - pretty black framing on the inside panel on the second card, it gives such a different look with that little change of design - and wonderful backgrounds created for future cards! Your first card is so elegant with all the gold and the beautiful snowflakes, Christine! I love how you added the tin frame! The second card is a perfect night sky and a peaceful stand of trees to go with it! Thanks for sharing your other backgrounds. The vellum looks very interesting. I may have to give that a try.

Fabulous cards, Christine! Love the gold on the white for the first two. Great layouts on each, and I love the sentiments and the way you did them. The second card is beautiful with that line of tiny trees and the wonderful shiny sky.

Fantastic results Christine and with totally different effects on each. I love the gold with the gold snowflake against the white card, and the the really dramatic look of the second for a wonderful night sky, again such a contrast with the white and great sentiments too. x

Using one color of embossing powder really made a gorgeous backdrop for the snowflake. I like the double matting that gave it dimension. The black sky really shines. We'll get to see many more cards made with the stunning panels you have ready too.

Christine, that big snowflake sure is a beauty in gold and a perfect companion for your smooshed embossed gold background. Both cards have such a cool artsy look. The embossing takes your night sky in the third card to a whole other level. I wonder how many of us were sold on stamping after seeing embossing for the first time. I sure was, and look what it grew into. So much fun!

I love your result, Christine! The color was applied delicately, as if creating a mist rather than a stain. Perfect technique, perfect execution. I love these cards!
