Cas Christmas Card Challenge - November is Critters Month

Hi Everyone it's time for CAS Christmas Challenge. This month Barb has asked us to look for those Christmas Critters. Welcome Valerie (Le Scrap de Vava) our Guest Designer for this month, don't forget to head over and say hi.

My little critter is a mouse from Pink Ink Designs. I watercoloured this cute image and added detail with pencils. I added a little water colour and a little stenciling around him and a pearl pen added a little dimension to his hat.

I should have used heat embossing for the image to create a dam for the watercolour but forgot and the red bled a little on the hat and the cane.😠
If this happens just pull out a little undiluted bleach and a fine brush and pull out the colour.
I find with red bleach does the best job, water will pull most out but always leaves a pinkish residue.

I die cut the image using the stamplorations crazy double running stitch frame die.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Pink Ink Designs, Penny Black Sentiment
Paper: Watercolour, 110lb White
Ink: Versafine Clair Nocturn
Accessories: Pencils, watercolour, stencil, Pearl Pen, Frame Die.
Techniques: Watercolouring, stenciling, pencil colouring

Okay, well, I'm trying to see where the ink bled, but it looks flawless to me! I love this little mouse. Pink ink stamps are so fun. Your stenciled background is just the right touch!

What a cute PI mouse Christine and love the way he is holding the candi cane with the big blue bow, and the grey stencilled background with a touch of blue is perfect as a backdrop and I love the wonky stitches mat you have him on..a beautiful card. x

Your mouse is too cut and colored beautifully! You shaded him perfectly. Love the subtle background you created too. Thanks for the tip about cleaning up red. It really is the hardest color to deal with when mistakes happen.
