Hideko is our guest designer for November, check out her amazing cards at Papercraft Boutique and head over to the other CAS Watercolour DT blogs for some wonderful inspiration.
I used the Daniel Smith Watercolour grounds again before colouring with Distress watercolours. You cans see below in the first card I used the Pearlescent white. This gave the blue and purple distress watercolours this wonderful cool tone.
For my second card I used the Gold which gave a much warmer background for the distress inks.
The stamp set was a gift from a sweet friend. I finished both cards with a simple Christmas sentiment from Serendipity
Card Recipe
Stamps: Serendipity Sentiment, Ali express image
Paper: Watercolour, 110lb white
Ink: Ranger Archival black
Accessories: Daniel Smith Watercolour grounds (gold and pearlescent white)

I would love to see your cards IRL, Christine..maybe in May:-) The grounds sound like an interesting product. Love your CAS design for beautiful last minute cards. TFS and Happy Holidays. Hugs..

I'm forever mesmerized not only but your talent for design but products you use. Had to look up those watercolor grounds. Your craft room must be amazing with all these products. Love the effect that these grounds give not only to your color but to allow your stamping to show through. Thanks for introducing us to so much. These are fabulous!
You not only have a talent for design but I'm fascinated by products you use! Had to look up the grounds to see what it does and now a must have! Love the cards, Christine, the CAS design but such an intriguing focal. Thanks for introducing us to so much!
So interesting to see the difference between the pearlescent and the gold grounds. Love both of them. And I really like that stamp - a great one for CAS cards!
Love the different look the coloured grounds give your cards, Christine. We need to play with these one day soon! :) Love the CAS design, and that gorgeous script on your sentiment. xx
Both are beautiful, but I think like the first pearlescent grounds better. It’s brighter. Beautiful watercolouring and wonderfully CAS. Those grounds are so interesting. Can’t wait to see more uses with them. .
Perfect colors for this rustic image, Christine! The beautiful sentiment is a perfect fit!

2 great cards...love the look and that you left the image as the focal point by keeping all else white and clean and simple looking,
xx Karen
Both cards are so clean and beautiful, Christine! I've never used watercolour grounds (or I don't even own one), but the effects on the distress inks are so interesting! Thank you for sharing both Pearlescent white and gold. Hideko xx
Absolutely stunning, I love your cards.
Merry Christmas
