Gelli print backgrounds

A few days ago Susan (AKA susanbri splitcoast stampers) and I got together to play with some gelli prints, it's a pretty messy process but fun none the less 😀
I made 4 or 5 backgrounds for future use but did manage to take the one with my favorite colours and create a mixed media background to use on some cards.

I took the gelli print and added some gold Viva Decor 3D stamp paint and sponged over a leaf stencil.  The gold has more of a green hue because of the blues, I also stenciled using black embossing paste to give it a little more pop.  The sprig of berries is from the Tim Holtz winter greenery die cut set.  I love the abstract art look of the background and am pretty happy with the final result.  I made four cards in total but have just posted two here.

I'm entering these for

Watercolouring with bister

I've been so busy lately as so many of us have with work and Christmas that I haven't had a chance to get to all the great challenges out there, and one on my list is Loll and Bonnie's  CAS Water colour card challenge.  So time to pull out some resist medium for the December challenge.
I'm also entering it for Stamplorations stencil challenge  during their stencil blog hop,

For this card I used gel medium through a stencil as my resist and Bister as my water colour medium.  Bister a powdered water colour medium which comes in 8 very earthy colours, Blue black and natural being my favorites.

I placed the stencil on coated card stock and spread the gel medium over the stencil, I then carefully removed the stencil.  The gel medium was left to dry,  Blue bister powder sprinkled over it and then spritzed with water.  The crystals dissolve in the water and colour seeps out.  I love how the gel medium creates dams which cause the colour to pool.

Card Recipe
Stamps: None
Paper: 110lb white, coated card
Ink: None
Accessories: Bister, gel medium, stamplorations stencil
Techniques: Stenciling, watercolour powders

Busy getting some last minute Christmas cards done

I recently purchased some dies from Simon says stamp and this bubble breeze die really caught my eye.  It really makes me think of snow blowing in the wind which fits with the weather we are having here in Vancouver Canada.  Also along with the MFT stamp and die set I bought on sale from a local store.  I love how this turned out and will be making  few more over the next couple of days.

The base layer of the card was die cut with the bubble breeze die then stamped the sentiment using  a MISTI, the bear is water coloured using zig markers and clear Wink of Stella.  I wanted to make the snow sparkle so I used the Wink of Stella on the bubble die although you can't see it in the picture.
The sequins add just a little more sparkle.
I am enter this for the following challenges

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Merry Monday -Winter Fun

Splitcoast stampers Mix 201 and F4A354

This weeks Split coast stampers MIX201 Anything goes,  F4A354 Snowflakes, so combining the two I  thought I would enter this card.  I mixed red pearlex with gel medium and used a stencil to cover a piece of card covered with viva decor 3D stamp paint.  The green and red were so bright I just love the mix.   I also used one of my SSS die cuts to create the frame,
